First Japanese hotel chain TOKYU HOTELS to join the Global Hotel Alliance (GHA)
While maintaining the independence of a brand from Japan, we participate in one of the world's largest membership bases.

TOKYU HOTELS & RESORTS CO., LTD.

On March 4, 2026, TOKYU HOTELS, operated by TOKYU HOTELS & RESORTS CO., LTD. (Tokyo Shibuya-ku, President and CEO: Takashi Takei), became the first Japanese hotel chain to form the "Global Hotel Alliance (hereinafter referred to as GHA"), which is one of the world's largest alliances of independent hotel brands and has a network of more than 950 hotels in 100 countries, 50 brands, and more than 950 We would like to inform you that we have joined the ".
This membership is a strategic initiative to achieve sustainable growth in an international competitive environment while maintaining the independence and identity of the Japanese hotel chain operator, and to become a "hotel chain widely chosen by the world."

What is GHA?

GHA is the world's largest alliance of independent hotel brands, with over 950 member hotels across 50 brands in 100 countries. The alliance's award-winning loyalty program, GHA DISCOVERY, offers its more than 34 million members status-based benefits, a reward currency called Discovery Dollars (D$), and exclusive experiences at member hotels and affiliated partners.
By joining GHA, each hotel brand will be able to expand its global reach, generate additional revenue and reduce its reliance on third-party channels such as travel agencies, while maintaining its management independence and individual brand positioning.

Aims and objectives of joining the GHA

Since the opening of Ginza TOKYU HOTEL in 1960, we have been developing our business mainly in Japan, leveraging Japan's unique hospitality and management capabilities. On the other hand, the environment surrounding the hotel industry is changing significantly, and strengthening awareness, customer attraction, and profitability on a global scale is essential for sustainable growth. This GHA membership is a strategic initiative to strengthen these elements, and its aims are mainly in the following three points.

1

Diversify and expand the geographic portfolio of your customer base
We already welcome many international guests, with the majority of our guests currently coming from East Asia and North America. By joining GHA, which has strengths in Europe, Southeast Asia, and South Asia, and also has affiliated hotels in the Middle East and South America, we will be able to expand our customer base to an even wider range of regions.

2

Improved revenue by reaching 34 million GHA members
By being able to directly approach 34 million GHA members worldwide, it is expected that new customer segments, primarily FITs (Finally Independent Travelers), will be acquired. In addition to capturing growing segments such as long-term stay guests in Europe and the increasing wealthy in Asia, the increase in direct bookings is also expected to result in reduced commission fees.

3

Improve satisfaction of our existing members (approximately 1.1 million people)
The member benefits that we have provided mainly in Japan until now will be expanded to a worldwide customer experience, including the application of member preferential rates at hotels around the world and the acquisition and use of reward currency.

By joining GHA, we will be able to connect with one of the world's largest membership bases while maintaining our independence, accelerating our direct sales and expanding and strengthening our customer base. This will further advance our efforts to raise our competitiveness to international standards in terms of recognition, ability to attract customers, and profitability, which are essential to being a "hotel chain of choice."

Background to joining the GHA

The number of foreign tourists visiting Japan has increased significantly, and the inbound market is entering a new phase of growth, with annual numbers expected to exceed 40 million for the first time in 2025. On the other hand, as accommodation options become more diverse, it is becoming more difficult to differentiate hotels based solely on price and location, and loyalty measures centered on member benefits and status recognition are rapidly gaining importance as reasons for guests to choose the hotel again.
GHA's loyalty program, "GHA DISCOVERY," not only offers preferential rates and reward currency to members, but also expands the brand experience itself through special experience programs exclusive to members, local experiences that allow members to enjoy the charms of the region, and VIP treatment according to member status, contributing to improving brand preference and building medium- to long-term customer loyalty.
Expanding direct bookings in conjunction with our loyalty program will not only improve profits by reducing costs, but will also deepen relationships with customers, making it an important element in supporting a foundation for sustainable growth. It was against this backdrop that we decided to join the GHA.

Expanded benefits for customers through GHA membership

In response to our recent membership in GHA, we will gradually launch a new loyalty program, "TOKYU HOTELS DISCOVERY" (TOKYU HOTELS Discovery), in April 2027. As the first step, the program will be launched in April 2027 for THE CAPITOL HOTEL TOKYU, TOKYU HOTEL, EXCEL HOTEL TOKYU, and STREAM HOTEL brand stores, and in September 2027, TOKYU RESORT HOTELS, TOKYU REI HOTEL, THE PARK FRONT HOTEL AT UNIVERSAL STUDIOS JAPAN, and STORYLINE brand stores will join the program and officially start the program. The Company's existing membership program "TOKYU HOTELS COMFORT MEMBERS" will be integrated and changed to "TOKYU HOTELS DISCOVERY" in September 2027.
Since the official launch of TOKYU HOTELS DISCOVERY, existing TOKYU HOTELS COMFORT MEMBERS members will be able to use membership benefits in GHA DISCOVERY's more than 950 hotel networks in 100 countries, 50 brands, and more than 950 hotels, including TOKYU HOTELS. You can also receive membership services when traveling abroad or on business trips. In addition, by staying at member hotels around the world, including TOKYU HOTELS, you can earn the reward currency "Discovery Dollars (D$)" and use the accumulated "Discovery Dollars (D$)" to pay for your stay, as well as members-only programs that allow you to enjoy the unique culture and experiences of the region, as well as hospitality based on your membership status, across countries and brands.
With this membership, "TOKYU HOTELS COMFORT MEMBERS" will evolve from a membership program limited to Japan to a "loyalty program that connects with the world".

Through joining GHA, TOKYU HOTELS & Resorts aims to visualize the company's differentiation in terms of "operational capabilities" in the global market and improve the nomination rate of the brand. We will continue to work on sustainable growth and value creation while refining our strengths as a hotel chain operator from Japan.
