Experience-designed hotel “The HOTEL Well-hub Haneda” scheduled to open on July 6, 2026
— Rebranded as a "base camp for experiencing Japan," connecting the world and Japan —
Tokyu Corporation (Tokyo Shibuya-ku, President Masahiro Horie) and TOKYU HOTELS & RESORTS CO., LTD. (Tokyo Shibuya-ku, President and CEO: Takashi Takei) will rebrand "Kawasaki King Skyfront Tokyu REI Hotel" to "The HOTEL Well-hub Haneda" on Monday, July 6, 2026, and will be rebranded as "Experience Design Hotel" With the concept of "Treating Humanity," we will open as a new hotel brand. With the rebranding, the hotel will be reborn as a "base camp for Japanese experiences" that connects travelers visiting Japan from all over the world with nature, sports, and cultural experiences from all over Japan.
The hotel will be relaunched in earnest as a hotel that provides experiential value that crosses cities, nature, and cultures, based on its experience in continuing to work with the local community since its opening in 2018. Taking advantage of the location environment as an international gateway near Haneda Airport, where the number of international passengers continues to increase against the backdrop of increasing demand for inbound travel to Japan, and the rich waterfront environment of the Tama River, the main target is the new wealthy travelers who visit Japan from all over the world who want to deeply understand Japanese culture and the rich natural environment through their own bodies. We propose a new style of stay that will serve as a hub for these people to travel to culture and nature in various parts of Japan.
Story ~The return of ideas after eight years and the beginning of "Chapter Two"~
Established in 2018 as a lifestyle hotel emphasizing experiences in a unique location across the Tama River from Haneda Airport—a previously unserved area—this hotel will move to a new stage in July 2026 as "The HOTEL Well-hub Haneda," eight years later. Conceived as a hotel where diverse experiences converge within an architectural space inspired by a warehouse, it aims to be more than just a transit hotel, but a hub for urban experiences, leveraging its location near Haneda Airport.
However, the COVID-19 pandemic that hit the world shortly after the hotel's opening forced a temporary halt to its initial plan as an experiential hotel designed for inbound tourists. Nevertheless, over the past eight years, the hotel has continued to work with the local community, organizing SUP events on the Tama River, music festivals in collaboration with the local area, food bank activities on the riverbank, cycling events taking advantage of its location adjacent to the Tama River cycling road, and community cleanup activities. These efforts have ensured that this place remains an experiential hub connecting the city with nature, and the hotel with the local community. The hotel views these past eight years as a time to deepen its concept, and now, against the backdrop of the recovery of the inbound tourism market, it has decided to rebrand and relaunch with an even more evolved version of its original concept.
This is not the birth of a new hotel, but the return of an idea that has been in the works for eight years, and the beginning of "Chapter Two."
