Odoriko, Amagi Pass, and Wasabi Gourmet Detour Course

Head to Shimoda along the old road that the dancers took, making detours to Joren Falls, which will have you humming along to that famous enka song, the old Amagi Tunnel, and Kawazu's famous wasabi gourmet food!

    Joren Falls

It also appears in the lyrics of Sayuri Ishikawa's hit song "Amagi Koe."
This is a famous waterfall that feels cool even in midsummer.

    Old Amagi Tunnel

The old Amagi Tunnel, officially known as "Amagi-san Tunnel," which opened in 1905, is located on an old road that is off National Route 414.
You can drive through, but I recommend parking beforehand and walking through the tunnel.

    Kawazu Nanadaru Loop Bridge

As the name suggests, it is a bridge on National Route 414 that loops in a round circle.
As soon as you pass the loop bridge, there is a road that turns left into Kawazu Nanadaru Onsenkyo.
Nanadaru The loop bridge looking up from the direction is also impressive.

    Wasabi Garden Kadoya

The wasabi bowl that became famous after appearing in TV's "Lonely Gourmet" was a location for "Kadoya".
In addition, the "Crying Gourmet Food" by the "Kawazu Wasabi Crying Corps" using Kawazu's famous wasabi can be enjoyed at the "Crying Corps Cafeteria of the Nanadaru Tourist Center".

    First View Falls

In front of one of the Kawazu Nanadaru, Hatsukei Falls, there is a "dancer statue".
If you want to take a commemorative photo, please come here!
By the way, Nanadaru is a general term for Kamataki, Ebi Falls, Snake Falls, Hatsukei Falls, Crab Falls, Encounter Falls, and Otaki, and the waterfall is read as "barrel" or "daru".

    Mine Onsen Great Fountain

You'll cry if you miss the giant fountain that only lasts for about a minute, seven times a day!
The 100 degree hot spring water gushes up to a height of about 30 meters.

    Kawazu Kinomiya Shrine

This is a power spot with pure air, centered around a large camphor tree that is over 1,000 years old and is a nationally designated natural monument.

    Azusa Whimsical Shop

This is a farm shop in the mountains where producers from eastern to southern Izu bring their local vegetables, fruits, seafood, and processed agricultural products directly to you. They sell the bounty of the Amagi mountain range, the Pacific Ocean, and Suruga Bay, fresh vegetables grown with great care by farmers, and hard-to-find local grains. Citrus fruits in particular are inexpensive and delicious, and if the season is right, you should definitely buy fresh wasabi, wasabi leaves, and stems. Highly recommended.

Farm Produce Direct Sales Shop Shun no Sato

You can get fresh vegetables and fruits picked that morning. In addition to seasonal vegetables and fruits, there are also ready-to-eat items such as seasonal okowa (steamed rice), country sushi, sanma sushi, popular local buns, stone oven baked bread, and cakes, which are recommended for packed lunches and snacks while traveling.

    Shinshin Kisen Ferry Terminal

In the novel "The Izu Dancer," the student goes to Tokyo and the group of dancers goes to Oshima.
I imagined that they all went back to different places from Shimoda Port.
Currently, the Shinshin Kisen ferry "Azeria" connects Kozushima, Shikinejima, Niijima, and Toshima.
