Preparation and the day

Preparation

We recommend that you discuss the following points with your family before making a reservation.

schedule: Select the candidate date and desired time

Beauty: Whether or not you would like your hair done, make-up done, or dressed in a kimono (for yourself or your family)

photograph: Studio photo shoot option and desired number of shots
Snapshot photos (depending on reservation status)

meal: Number of people, desired restaurant, whether or not to use a private room

Example of schedule for the day

Hair & makeup, dressing: Approximately 60-90 minutes (may vary depending on the preparations required)

photo shoot: Approximately 30 to 60 minutes *60 minutes for 4 or more cuts

Visit to a shrine: Approximately 60 to 90 minutes

Dining: We also accept reservations for dining at the restaurant.

Hie Shrine

On the hill adjacent to the hotel is Hie Shrine, surrounded by a lush forest. As the guardian of the Imperial Palace, Hie Shrine protects the heart of Japan. In 1659, it was moved to Star Hill a scenic spot overlooking a reservoir, where it remains to this day. The shrine building was burned down in the Great Tokyo Air Raid of 1945, but was rebuilt in 1958 as part of the Showa Imperial Construction Project. Every June, the Sanno Festival, known as one of the three major festivals in Japan and the first of the three major festivals of Edo, is held here. In recent years, it has also become known as one of Tokyo's leading "power spots," with a never-ending stream of people coming to pray for protection from evil, warding off evil spirits, finding love, having children, and safe childbirth.
