3 TOKYU HOTELS facilities in Sapporo
Simultaneous acquisition of "4 Yellow Cherry Blossoms" in international certification to practice the SDGs

Sapporo TOKYU HOTELS (SAPPORO TOKYU REI HOTEL SAPPORO EXCEL HOTEL TOKYU SAPPORO STREAM HOTEL) is pleased to announce that in April 2026, all three facilities have obtained the "4 Cherry Blossoms" under the "Sakura Quality An ESG Practice (hereinafter referred to as "Sakura Quality Green"), which certifies accommodations that practice the SDGs, against the backdrop of significant changes in the values surrounding tourism, such as increased interest in sustainability in travel destinations as inbound demand continues to recover.
This certification is a comprehensive evaluation of sustainable tourism initiatives, including environmental considerations, coexistence with local communities, and governance soundness, and is the result of evaluating Sapporo TOKYU HOTELS 's ongoing sustainability promotion efforts.

About Sakura Quality Green

Sakura Quality Green is a Japan-based ESG certification system for accommodation facilities operated by Sakura Quality Management Co., Ltd. Based on evaluation criteria aligned with the standards of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), which is widely referenced as an international framework for sustainable tourism, the system evaluates 172 items, including environmental considerations, coexistence with local communities, and governance, and evaluates facilities on a five-level scale according to their achievement. The evaluation criteria are set in stages according to their difficulty, and all criteria must be met to obtain the highest rating, "5 Gyoiko Sakura".

Regarding initiatives and evaluations

At Sapporo TOKYU HOTELS, based on the TOKYU HOTELS sustainable policy of "Earth-friendly hotels, town-friendly hotels, and people-friendly hotels," the three facilities have worked together to promote hotel management that walks together with the local community.
This certification is not limited to simple environmental considerations, but is also evaluated for its multifaceted initiatives, such as creating experiential value that utilizes the local resources of Hokkaido and Sapporo, and building continuous relationships with local communities.

Main initiatives

Initiatives for decarbonization and resource recycling

We are promoting operations to reduce environmental impact, such as offsetting a portion of CO₂ emissions from our business activities through carbon offsets and obtaining a "Carbon Offset Certificate." We are also working on environmental conservation in collaboration with the local community, such as the use of credits derived from forest conservation activities in Hokkaido Shimokawa Town.

Promoting local resources and creating experiential value

Hokkaido ・We combine Sapporo's diverse attractions such as food, culture, nature, and sports with accommodation experiences to convey the value of the region. For breakfast, we offer menus that are conscious of local production for local consumption, providing experiences that allow you to enjoy the "Hokkaido-ness" with all five senses. We are also actively working to create opportunities to travel around the region, such as accommodation plans in collaboration with tourist facilities and plans with dinner in collaboration with nearby restaurants.

Co-creation with local communities and social contribution activities

In addition to promoting contributions to ecosystem conservation through the dissemination of information in the Sapporo City Red List 2016 guidebook, we are also promoting a multifaceted understanding of the city through the distribution of our own neighborhood maps. Furthermore, we are building strong collaborative relationships with society through participation in local events and traditional ceremonies, and support for sports.

Commitment to safety, security, and diversity

To provide all our guests with a safe and comfortable stay, we have established a service system that prioritizes safety and security. Furthermore, we are promoting an environment where diverse talents can thrive, thereby achieving sustainable organizational management.

Ensuring governance and reliability

Based on strict compliance with laws and regulations and highly transparent operations, we aim to operate a hotel that is trusted by society through collaboration with stakeholders such as guests, local communities, and business partners.

We are very honored to have been able to obtain the "4 Goi Yellow Cherry Blossoms" at three Sapporo TOKYU HOTELS facilities. This certification is the result of daily accumulation of the efforts of each hotel to reduce its environmental impact, collaborate with the local community, and provide safe, comfortable, and high-quality stay value, which each hotel has continued to work on while being rooted in the Sapporo region.
On the other hand, we believe that this certification is a milestone, but at the same time, it is also a starting point for further enhancing the attractiveness of Sapporo, a sustainable city.
Sapporo is a region where the convenience of a city coexists with the diverse attractions of nature, food, culture, and sports throughout the four seasons. Taking advantage of this characteristic, we will contribute to improving the attractiveness of Sapporo by creating accommodations that allow people to experience the value of the region, not just the accommodation itself.
As Sapporo TOKYU HOTELS, the three facilities will continue to work together to further deepen hotel management based on both environmental considerations and regional co-creation, and strive to provide sustainable stay value that will make domestic and foreign guests want to visit again.
