Learn about "Mottainai!" cooking with Grandma Mottainai!

In collaboration with the picture book "Mottainai Baasan" (author: Mariko Shinju), published by Kodansha, we will be holding an interactive event where parents and children can learn about the importance of "mottainai!" (avoiding waste!) through cooking classes, food education workshops, and a meal gathering!

Published in October 2004, the series celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2024, with 17 books and a cumulative circulation of 1.7 million copies. It was adapted into an anime in June 2020. It is loved by children in kindergartens and daycare centers throughout Japan, as well as around the world, including in South Korea, China, France, India, and Vietnam. In the story, when children are wasting things, "Mottainai Grandma" comes along saying "What a waste!" and conveys the meaning and importance of cherishing things. It is a work that allows children to learn about "mottainai" in a fun way.
