Aloha! Sea Kayaking & Snorkeling Experience
One sunny day, our hotel staff, who love the sea, went on a kayaking and snorkeling tour!
The guide will be from the "KAI'TO Sea Kayak School" which has a clubhouse on Sotoura Beach, a 13-minute drive from the hotel.
KAI'TO's clubhouse. The ocean! The ocean! The ocean! The interior is exciting! There are many different kinds of kayaks on display. Watch a tour video in the clubhouse to learn about the kayaks you will be riding.
We boarded the kayaks at the beach in front of the clubhouse. Let's go!! Can we paddle? I was excited.
One, two, one, two... We rowed in perfect unison. We were approaching the rocks offshore!!
The wind was a bit strong offshore, so the instructor chose a shortcut. This rock is called "Genkotsu Rock." Occasionally, waves come in and the kayak floats up and down. It feels like an adventure on the open sea, and I can't stop feeling excited!
We went around Genkotsu Rock and landed! We enjoyed snorkeling in this area. The best spots to enjoy the snorkeling vary depending on the tide level.
We were able to snorkel around the rocks we had passed by in the kayak.
Apparently the creatures you can see vary depending on the season. What kind of creatures will you encounter? It's a fun wait until you get there ♪
Now, we take a break and head back to the beach where the clubhouse is located.
The instructor will guide you and encourage you on the way back, so you can relax.
