A luxurious plan to enjoy art appreciation and Japan cuisine at the Toguri Museum of Art (Shoto) and Ryotei Cerulean Tower Sukiya

Special event "Old Imari Appreciation and Cuisine" held

Limited to January 26th (Mon) and 27th (Tue), 2025

A special collaboration event between the Toguri Museum of Art and CERULEAN TOWER TOKYU HOTEL, where you can experience the supreme art and dining in Shibuya, a city where diverse cultures and entertainment are alive, where you can feel the traditional beauty of Japan and sophisticated Japanese design with all five senses.

The "Ancient Imari Living Things Exhibition" carefully selects about 80 works with the theme of living things from Imari ware (ancient Imari) in the collection of the Toguri Museum of Art. This exhibition, which features a variety of creatures such as animals, birds, dragons, fish, and insects, is a special exhibition that you can enjoy in a way that makes you feel like turning the pages of an illustrated book. At this event, you can enjoy a luxurious moment where you can enjoy a special appreciation session where you can actually experience the works in a special room that is usually not allowed to enter, and a special appreciation session where you can actually touch the works in person, as well as explanations by curators in a private space for event participants only.

After the viewing, we will prepare a special lunch course of Japan cuisine prepared by our dedicated chef at the Ryotei Cerulean Tower Sukiya in the CERULEAN TOWER TOKYU HOTEL. This time, we will serve some dishes specially served in Koimari.

Toguri Museum of Art

The Toguri Museum of Art, a public interest incorporated foundation, opened in November 1987 on the former site of the Nabeshima family estate in Shoto, Shibuya Ward, with the goal of permanently preserving and widely exhibiting the art pieces, primarily ceramics, that founder Toru Toguri had collected over many years. The collection primarily consists of Hizen porcelain, such as Imari and Nabeshima, as well as oriental ceramics from China and Korea. As one of the few museums in Japan specializing in ceramics, it holds four special exhibitions per year.
From Thursday, January 8th to Sunday, March 22nd, 2026, we will be holding a special exhibition, "Illustrated Illustrated Collection of Old Imari Living Things." We will be introducing the living creatures that appear in Old Imari ware, grouped by pattern. On the day, curators will provide explanations of the exhibits, and we will also be holding special viewing sessions, so please feel free to take a look at the works in our collection.

CERULEAN TOWER TOKYU HOTEL
Ryotei Cerulean Tower Sukiya

Although it is located a 5-minute walk from Shibuya Station, "CERULEAN TOWER TOKYU HOTEL" is full of tranquility and elegant time. Quietly located on the second basement floor, Ryotei Cerulean Tower Sukiya is a traditional architectural Sukiya building consisting of a hall (30 tatami mats), a next room (12 tatami mats), and a tea room (6 tatami mats), and you can see the adjacent Noh theater as a borrowed view (except during Noh performances). As the best special room in the hotel, we will welcome you with all your heart with a complete reservation system limited to one group per day day and night.
In this project, we will prepare a special course using ingredients from Saga, the hometown of Koimari, and serve a part of it on a plate in Koimari.
In a space where Japan culture is condensed, please enjoy the elegance of Japan and the essence of Japan cuisine.
